Three Ways To Heal Your Broken Heart

Three Ways To Heal Your Broken Heart

A broken heart is something that nobody ever wants to feel, but unfortunately, not all of us have a say in that decision. Now, we’ve all heard the saying “time heals all wounds.” While that may be true, sometimes it takes a very long time for those wounds to heal, and, well, it’s not always an easy and quick process, or a fun one for that matter. So, I want to fill you guys in on a few different ways that a broken heart can be healed that doesn’t involve you sitting around all day waiting for that magical moment where you could possibly feel a sliver of happiness again.

One of the most important things to do when trying to heal your broken heart is to laugh. Put on your favorite funniest movie or tv show, read your funniest book, go grab dinner or a drink with your funniest friends, go do literally anything that will make you laugh! Even if that means that you sit on your couch or lay in your bed for days binging the funniest show Netflix has to offer, then so be it. When you’re hurting, it’s so important to just do what makes you feel good and happy without worrying about what others might think of you. Whoever said “laughter is the best medicine” really knows what they’re talking about!

Another way to heal your broken heart is to do the things you love that bring you nothing but pure joy, and to do a lot of it. Oftentimes, people know all of the things that they love to do off the top of their heads, but sometimes, people have to really dig deep into their emotions to figure out what it is that makes them feel the happiest and most at peace, and that’s very okay. Whether it be cooking, exercising, going shopping, swimming, partying, or simply sleeping, just do it and keep doing it! Try a new activity every day if you feel like that could help you heal, or don’t and keep doing the same activity over and over again! This is your healing journey and nobody else’s, so do what makes you happy without the fear of judgment holding you back! Staying true to yourself while dealing with a broken heart is crucial on your healing journey.

And now, the final way to heal a broken heart: erase them from your life!! I know the initial thought of doing this is scary, sad, and probably the last thing anyone wants to do after getting their heart broken, but listen guys, it really, truly helps. Delete the texts, the photos, the videos, throw out their toothbrush, sell their things on Ebay, sage every room they ever walked into. Do anything and everything to remove their presence from your life because you will be so much happier, I can promise that. Trust me, all of this is extremely easier said than done, but it’s just one of those things that is a part of your healing journey that needs to be done. Oh, and delete them off social media too!! We all are guilty of stalking our exes after a break up, but it’s one of the worst things you can do. In a nutshell, remove them from every aspect of your life. It’s for the better. I hope I was able to give you guys some insight into how to heal a broken heart. A broken heart is one of, if not, the worst feeling in the world, so it’s principal that we all do things that will help heal our hearts. Remember that everyone’s healing journey’s are different, as some may need only a month to heal, while others need a year. Feelings have no time limit, so just take it day by day. You deserve to be happy.
